Wrestlers Rescue Mission Statement Wrestlers Rescue’s mission is to create awareness and to help raise monies to support the health care needs of Retired Professional Wrestlers due to a career choice in wrestling.
Wrestlers rescue will be focusing on three stages of growth.
1st stage is to create awareness of the need and to raise funds. 2nd stage is to put in place a financial advisory for the active wrestling community to call on for advice on how to plan for their future. Including retirement, pension, college funds, family needs etc. 3rd stage is to set in place a Health care program that can be bought into at a group rate so that the community can afford care for themselves and their families. We are dedicated to improving the lives of the professional and their families. By educating the person on how to expand their opportunities and how to reach their full potential in life.

TONIGHT, THURSDAY AUGUST 28TH 2008 AT 7PM, The New York Fight Club brings to Long Island for the first time the closest thing to full-combat Mixed Martial Arts fighting that’s still legal in New York: 12 full-contact bouts August 28 at the Freeport Recreation Center.
WHO: NY Fight Club Mixed Martial Arts Event
* Emerson SouzaBrazilian Jiu-JitsuAcademy, Baldwin * Extreme Muay Thai Kickboxing and MMA Academy, Valley Stream * Sitan Gym, Long Island City * Campbell’s Karate and Kickboxing, Amityville * Borodin’s Muay Thai Gym, Brooklyn * New York San Da, Manhattan
WHAT: 12 Bouts of Live Mixed Martial Arts Action
WHEN: TONIGHT, THURSDAY AUGUST 28TH, 7PM 2008
WHERE: Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Road, Freeport, NY 11520
"These bouts will feature the only full-combat fighting that’s still legal in New York State," said promoter John McFeely, owner of Bikram Yoga in Carle Place.
McFeely, who is the Yoga coach for the New York Jets, will also take to the ring to battle Marvin Leggits 20 years his junior.
"Part of my training is to take a 90-minute class in 100 degree heat everyday and sometimes twice a day," the combatant said. "This is the key to my very strong cardio and why I feel I’ll be able to outlast my opponent."
According to McFeely, the Jets employ a pre-season workout regiment that includes Bikram Yoga, Mixed Martial Arts with champion fighter Renzo Gracie of the legendary Gracie Family of Brazil, and Boxing with renowned trainer and commentator Teddy Atlas.
"The Jets convert their media room into a hot room with ceiling mounted heaters for their classes," McFeely noted. "They are on tough team."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Suffolk County Parks is the proud sponsor of Long Island Maritime Museum’s 17th Annual Seafood, Craft and Music Festival August 23-24, 2008

West Sayville, NY (August 15, 2008) The Long Island Maritime Museum’s Annual Seafood Festival, to be held this year on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2008, is one of the summer’s hottest events. Last year, over 18,000 people came through the gates of the festival, which combines arts and crafts, education and live entertainment with some of the Island’s best seafood. It is held at the Museum’s waterfront park adjacent to the West Sayville Golf Course at the foot of West Avenue in West Sayville.
This year’s visitors won’t be disappointed. Once again, the Festival committee has worked hard to add new and exciting attractions to the event. There will be over 70 exhibitors of fine arts and crafts on hand coordinated by Preferred Promotions of Long Island. The Festival will feature over thirty activities and displays provided by some of Long Island’s most important environmental and educational groups. The event, catered for the first time by Lessings, Inc., will have more sumptuous seafood available than ever before.
Music has become a major focal point of this festival and this year is no exception. There will be an eclectic mix of music, sure to appeal to a broad audience. The Festival is proud to announce a very special, homegrown and local musical lineup featuring Paging Grace (songs featured on ’The Hills"), The Turn, Jake Incao, Rick Eberle of Iridesense (songs featured on Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, iCarly), Beautiful Vision, Blues Rock Legend Jon Paris, and Jacks Waterfall (a musical adventure in pop, blues, jazz and global folk) on Saturday. Sunday will feature Lucky Star (Bluegrass Celtic Rock) and Karma Sutra (an exciting mix of reggae, Grateful Dead and some originals). There will also be a Sea Shanty stage, featuring Stout, singing maritime music as well as American and Irish folksongs on both festival days. See the Maritime Museum website (www.limaritime.org) for a complete list of performers.
The Long Island Maritime Museum has added the special attraction of Ye Pirate Brotherhood, a hardy crew of 17th century buccaneers with a sharp theatrical edge, reliving the days of high seas adventure on the Spanish Main. Ye Pirate Brotherhood will be enacting a scallywag pirate show and treasure hunt on both festival days that is sure to be fun for the whole family!
Bring your family and friends, (no pets will be allowed) this year’s event promises to be full of fun and excitement for all. Gates will open at 10:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. Food vendors will remain open until 6:00 pm and the music will continue until 7:00 pm both days. Visitors to the Festival will be able to take advantage of the new expanded off-site parking and the shuttle service from several locations. On-line advanced ticket sales will be available this year with a preferred parking area available exclusively to the online advance ticket holders. Admission to the Festival is $5.00, which goes directly to support the Museum’s operations. Children 5 and under are free. The Seafood Festival is the largest single fundraising event for the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville. The Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Long Island’s rich maritime history and heritage for educational purposes. Media Advisory For Immediate Release August 13, 2008
*Ring-Side media accommodations available
Carle Place, NY (August 13, 2008) The New York Fight Club brings to Long Island for the first time the only full-combat Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting that’s still legal in New York: 12 full-contact bouts August 28 at the Freeport Recreation Center.
The card will feature some of the top talent from the area’s top gyms, including fighters from:
* Emerson SouzaBrazilian Jiu-JitsuAcademy, Baldwin * Extreme Muay Thai Kickboxing and MMA Academy, Valley Stream * Sitan Gym, Long Island City * Campbell’s Karate and Kickboxing, Amityville * Borodin’s Muay Thai Gym, Brooklyn * New York San Da, Manhattan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Turn takes the Road Less Traveled - and Travels Farther
Rockville Centre, NY (August 4th, 2008) Drawing influences from acts such as The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and John Mayer, THE TURN create songs that follow in these famous footsteps; combining the pop sensibility that made them superstars, with the same soulful touch that made them icons.
The partnership of lead singer/guitarist Brian Ripps and Pat McDermott on vocals, guitars and keyboards is the driving force behind the band, playing anywhere and everywhere in many shapes and forms, increasing their visibility and fanbase and all the while gearing up their voices and instrument technique for the inevitable world tour to come.
Their new single "Christiana" has already graced the airwaves at Q104.3 and 94.3 WMJC in New York, and the sky is the limit for this hot commodity among the New York rock scene. The band recently participated in and reached the final round of the Emergenza Festival, which included an earlier performance at Crash Mansion and culminated with a performance at Webster Hall.
They will be performing in many capacities in the coming weeks and months including big gigs on Thursday August 21st at The Mile Square in Hoboken, NJ, on Saturday August 23rd at the LI Maritime Museum Seafood Festival and on Thursday August 28th at JFK Plaza (Love Park) in Philadelphia, PA and at coffehouses, rock clubs, festivals and even at a High School and College near you this Fall!
